Self Portrait

When you're 46, it's hard not to avail yourself of a filter! ;-)

If you saw me in real life you'd realize how good this portrait is.
I look 25 in my dreams only but I love Samrath and Suby for their lies.
I took this in my room and the light is coming from the window. I decided to embark on a series of self portraits because I hate having my picture taken and because I am getting older. For me I hope this will help me to see that there is beauty in aging. If, like Chantal says, you can see my personality here, then I am succeeding!

A lovely self portrait. I always do my self portraits in b&w. It is more forgiving. I might try a color version with the soft/warming filter on the lens. ;o)

Very nice self portrait. I hate taking pictures of myself, and I seem to hate having my picture taken.

You sure this is a picture of a 46 year old woman and not one of 25yrs?

I like the composition, why is there so much light coming from the left?

Creative self-portrait! I agree with Suby. Are you sure you are not 25 ?

Aha! You have discovered the trick to reverse aging: look up at the camera, not down! (I didn't learn this gem of wisdom until last year on my 50th birthday.) Excellent portrait, by the way.

I know we all (the once past 40) want to look younger and we just miss to see the beauty of the maturity and wisdom. For me a woman’s beauty goes together with her maturity, her wisdom and her owning of the goddess. And this is what I see when I look at your portrait.

Would you like to look like 25 and have the experience of a 25 year old? If you allow me to answer for you, I’d say “I don’t think so”! it is actually just perfect how it is. I am who I am and that’s just it.

On the other hand I can feel your spirit and this is age less, it has eternal youth. This is something I do have difficulties myself, growing older and feel the age less spirit and yet I feel that it is so important to own where I am just now in my life.

Thank you for posting your beautiful portrait, thank you for having the courage to be who you are

Diya
